So you need more info?
OK Mike so you told me I had to create a blog. Time to skill myself up with some practical basic coding, get stuck into Wordpress, learn CSS etc.
But to keep me going I added a few requirements to the project.
The blog had to:

• be lolcat-esque. that is, not be tech or work related, rather be about something trivial;
• be mainstream, potentially viral; (Some decent traffic means I can do some extra analytics testing)
• be self-funding and at least cover costs (You’ll note the Ads, we’ll see if blogs can generate revenue);
• be an experiment in the SEO value of blogging (I want to test first-hand how well blog posts can be optimised, how Google treats blogs, the power of blog posts to traget long-tail search terms);

So here it is, I’ll post update on tests and progress as we go.

Blog has been up for a matter of days and already I’ve been spammed by someone offering SEO services. Geez if only there was a way to get on the “first page of Google”…

03/02/09 - Currently seeing new posts indexed in Google in less than 24 hours.
02/04/09 - Googlebot indexing pages now within 1-2 days. Have noticed how well blog posts create a mesh of internal links between pages. I’m expecting to see tag pages indexed and getting long-tail traffic along the way as well.
